The procedure for completing the Movement Diploma is as follows:

- Enrolment: Go to the Join Now page to complete an application form and make your payment. Please note, the £40 fee fee covers the assessment required for the Diploma so there should be nothing further to pay. Upon receipt of your payment you will be sent your Student Teaching Certificate along with the Movement Diploma the Test Paper.

- Test: Read through the test paper to give you an idea of what is required. You should then do some background reading and write notes to assist you in completing the test paper. The Modules included are: Anatomy, Health and Safety, First Aid, Learning Methods and Teaching Styles. Some of the questions are multi-choice, some require a more lengthy answer. The time taken to complete the test paper will depend on your current level of knowledge. No specialist dance knowledge of a particular technique is required for the Diploma.

- First Aid Course: Although this is not compulsory we do recommend that student teachers attend a first aid course. These are available throughout the UK with St John's Ambulance along with other societies.

- Assessment: Upon completion of your Test paper, return it to us for assessment along with your final assessment DVD (required for applications from 1st August 2011 onwards, a DVD of you teaching a class). After assessment you will receive a mark (Referral, Pass, Commended, Highly Commended, Honours). Teachers with a referral will be given feedback and required to re-sit the test. No additional charge is made for the first referral, if subsequent referrals are required there is an additional charge of £15 per referral. Once successful in your test paper you will be eligible to become an Associate Member of the PMA.

Please Note: Student teachers are permitted to enter students for exams before completing their Movement Diploma.
